This course is designed for participants to gain the necessary skills to plan, prepare & complete basic rigging work as prescribed by the National Standard for Licensing Persons Performing High Risk Work. On completion of this course, participants will be able to undertake the movement of plant and equipment, steel erection, use hoists (including mast climbing hoists), undertake the placement of pre-cast concrete, use safety nets and static lines, install perimeter safety screens, shutters and cantilevered crane-loading platforms.
This rigging training course is designed for personnel who rig loads for lifting by cranes and for their supervisors. Floor crane operators and others working with overhead cranes will benefit from this comprehensive and safety focused Rigging Fundamentals course.
Our instructor will be able answer your questions and cover important course material and concepts. In addition to a course workbook participants will also receive a 4” x 5” pocket handbook which highlights good and bad rigging practices, sling capacities and how to calculate unknown loads.Course objectives

The Lifting and rigging training is designed to provide personnel with the knowledge to undertake lifting and rigging operations in an offshore and onshore environment. Upon completion delegates should be able to:
Calculate the SWL, and WLL of slings,
Understand the safety factor of lifting accessories and equipment
Understand the requirements of applicable legislation to lifting and rigging operations
Carry out pre-use inspection for a lifting and rigging operation
Recommend that equipment and accessories be discarded where applicable
Identify the risks associated in a rigging and lifting operation.

The Rigger and Signalman Course is aimed at providing individuals with the knowledge
and skills to prepare and to tie the load for safe lifting by any form of lifting equipment,
using correct and clear signals to guide the crane operator in the maneuvering of a load safely to its destination. This is a mandatory course in line with Workplace Safety and Health (Operation of Cranes) Regulations for individuals who are assigned to carry out the lifting operation of load involving a mobile crane or tower crane.
This Basic Rigging and Signal Person Safety Training course gives workers the knowledge needed to rig safely on the job site. Class discussions and demonstrations will give workers the explanation needed to understand what stresses are placed on rigging and the load during hoisting operations.
