the shape and contour of the earth's surface for engineering, mapping and
construction projects. HVAC technicians, also known as HVAC mechanics and
installers, specialize in installing, maintaining, or repairing HVAC systems in
homes.
Technicians typically specialize in one of two areas, but can both install and
maintain/repair air conditioning systems. Installers place equipment, as well as
connect water supply lines, air pumps, wiring and controls. Maintenance and repair
technicians keep systems operating efficiently by checking equipment and looking for
leaks; they make repairs using hand and power tools, a variety of measurement gauges
